Here’s a very misunderstood word: Happy.
Everyone wants to be happy. That’s it. That’s what we all want.
Everything else… Things like: money, love, status, accomplishment, and more are just placebos, things mistakenly substituted for happiness.
We use these fleeting and artificial illusions in the pursuit of happiness. But they are not happiness. They’re just things upon which we project energy, we give them the power to control our day-to-day existence.
We’re all guilty of this. I know I am.
There are things that can instantly change our mood and bring us to a happy state very quickly. Music is one catalyst which can do exactly that.
As I write this I’m listening to a very happy song. It’s a very old song from the 1960’s, but it’s a very happy song and I feel happy listening to it.
The song that’s playing right now: “One Toke Over The Line” by Brewer and Shipley.
Try listening to that and see what happens. If you’re like me, you’ll feel happy.
And that’s the critical point I’d like to convey in this writing: happiness – being happy – is a feeling. And, like all feelings, it is internally generated.
Happiness is a ‘state-of-being’ that comes from within. It is a self-generated energy and it already is inside you. You just have to ‘let it out’.
I’m not trying to fill you with some artificial psychobabble. This is reality; a reality which most fail to realize. All happiness is self-generated. It comes from within.
Happiness is an energy and you have the power to generate this energy – as much of it as you desire, as often as you desire it.
The example of music, using music to feel good, is a great example. But it's not the music that makes you happy. The music is just a catalyst which allows you to feel the happiness which already exists within.
The music only helps you clear away any other energies which may have been blocking you from feeling the energy of happiness that’s already there, even if this clearing is only temporary. The key is to extend this clearing beyond just a few minutes.
Grow. Expand. Learn.

Most of the people who would describe themselves as ‘happy’ tend to be individuals who don’t dwell on, and in, the negative energies they have generated. They prefer to stay in the higher frequencies of the energy of happiness and have trained themselves to do that.
This is a practice we all should work on. It’s a great skill to have and does impact other areas of one’s life. It's how to be happy.
What is happiness? Remember happiness is a feeling.
There is something called the Law of Attraction: like attracts like. This, some say, is one of the immutable, physical laws of our universe, just like gravity.
I’m not a Law of Attraction expert. But, have you ever noticed how happy people seem to do better in life? Good things just seem to come to them.
That is the Law of Attraction in action. Happiness is a positive ‘good’ energy. And, because these people are sending out this better energy so much of the time, more positive and ‘good’ things are attracted to them.
Good things are pulled toward them, like a magnet pulls iron dust to its poles. Good things then manifest in their lives.
I want this. And I’m guessing you do to. We all want this.
To get more of the good things in life, the key is to be happy. And, happiness is a self-generated energy. When you exude the innate happiness within, it then draws better things back to you like the magnet attracting iron filings.
You have the power to generate happiness whenever you want. You can control this.
Many think otherwise. They let their personal power slip away over time, and don’t realize they can reclaim it. You can take back control of your life, reclaim your power and can use this power to generate happiness.
It is our Ego self which gets in the way. It believes, erroneously, that it must have this or that, must be this or that, or even must believe this or that so that happiness can be experienced.
This is wrong. The Ego self should not be in control.
Your True Self should be in control.
The True Self is the key. It is real, unlimited happiness and wants you to feel that all the time. It’s just a matter of clearing away all of life’s illusions, those were created by the Ego self, and the happiness within will be revealed. It’s already there.
Then, happiness brings more happiness and the process repeats, building momentum over time until you reach a place of complete and eternal joy.
But the opposite also is true. When you exude unhappy, or confused, or angry energy, you will attract more of this unpleasantness into your life, too.
Even worse: This occurs individually and collectively. So, as you attract negative experiences into your life, the energy of the negative is shared with the world – is added to the universal consciousness of all.
And, as this energy builds, it creates things which reflect its level of consciousness. When more negative energies are added to our world, more negative things will manifest into our reality in the form of hunger, war, and other unpleasant things.
Grow. Expand. Learn.
Do you want to see the world change?
I do. The world is a mess right now.
Now, I am not a pessimist. I do see the good in the world, too. But there is allot of bad and it doesn’t have to be that way. That’s what I’d like to see change.
And, believe it or not, you do play a part in this. We’re all connected. That’s right! We’re all connected to each other, and to the universal consciousness of all.
And, since we’re connected in this way, we actually influence one another and world events. Most don’t realize this is happening because it’s all taking place on a subconscious level – out of the scope of our awareness.
But, it is happening.
As I eluded to above, we all create energy – all day long – and this energy is projected beyond ourselves.
For example: Did you ever get angry? (We’ve all gotten angry. It’s okay to get angry: don’t beat yourself up about this.)
When you were angry, have you noticed that your body can ‘tense-up’ and may even become a little warmer?
This is an indication of the energy being created by you, your thoughts, and your body. But this energy doesn’t stay with you. It leaves. You calm down and your body cools off.
The energy projects from you and out into the world. It is added to the collective consciousness of all.
So, when you get angry, you are adding ‘anger energy’ to the world and the universe. Others are then influenced by this energy.
Then, as more people become angry, others will have the likelihood of becoming angry. (Does this explanation make sense? It is true.) It is an unconscious cycle that feeds upon itself.
We’ve all seen a discussion between rational people escalate to an argument and then maybe to a fight. This is an example of shared energy influencing the behaviors of others.
While this is a very localized example – where only the people in the discussion are affected – it also works the same way globally, where the world can be affected.
Energy feeds upon itself to expand and, in this way, impacts the world.
Now, I’m not saying that you should never get angry. That is a completely unreasonable ask and expectation for anyone, even the most Enlightened. The story of Jesus becoming angry in the Temple comes to mind. Even he got angry and had a hissy-fit.
But, and this is the takeaway here: the energy we create, project, and contribute to the universal consciousness, does impact others – their thoughts, their choices, and their behaviors.
And, this is how we impact the world and its state of being.
The answer to this problem: It is important to be mindful of what you’re feeling at all times.
And, when you feel yourself creating energy that has a lower vibrational frequency (lower calibrating energy, as described by Dr. David R Hawkins, MD, Phd.) like anger, hate, fear, jealousy, etc., try to shift yourself to a higher energy state, such as love, gratitude, or joy.
Or, happiness. Do whatever you can to shift yourself back to happiness, like listening to a song that makes you feel joy.
Doing this will change your life. It also will be adding better energy to the collective consciousness, which has a positive effect on others and the world.
Then, try to stay in that higher state of consciousness: happiness. Staying there truly is a choice. You can make this choice, too.
While this is not easy to do, it is doable. The first step is developing internal awareness.
This is done by feeling – feeling your internal state. Monitor what is going on inside, what you are feeling inside.
Then, simply acknowledge what it is that you are feeling – without judgement! – and shift to a different internal state.
I hope this information has given you something to think about. It is life changing information.
Monitoring and controlling your energy states is a critical aspect of taking back your power and creating/manifesting the things and life you desire.
